AUT Design Exhibition Project
At first glance design and performance appear to be to very different creative practices. This project is an exploration into performative design, a concept created by combining systems and conventions of dance and design together. This system created a base for an area of design that intends to create more immersive and interactive experiences, challenging the tradition semiotic role of the user or viewer. Performative design relies on interaction in order to create design experiences. As designers, we must look to the environment where visual communication predominates to apply performance strategies that can translate to innovative design ideas and experiences.
